The brief:
In the midst of the Covid-19 global pandemic, Retail Capital wanted to give SMEs hope, and help them get through the worst health and economic disaster in generations. The answer was to create a book, Unlocked. It included guidance, advice, insight and SME stories that would inspire, motivate and uplift SMEs during their moment of need. The book was to be published in December, and act as a record of what 2020 was to SMEs and the industry at large. It was shared with SMEs, Retail Capital’s key stakeholders, customers and staff.
Solution:
Rebecca Cronje was brought on board to produce the Unlocked Book, as well as manage the media relations when it was published in December. The book was a series of interviews with senior thought leaders and SMEs across different sectors, and Rebecca conducted interviews with them all to produce a 140 page book of compelling content. Working with Devlin Brown, a series of photographers and Chad Le Helloco on design, we produced the Unlocked book over a series of months, ensuring that it was updated and relevant to the ever-changing environment.

We also produced a series of YouTube interviews, talking to senior members of the Retail Capital team as well as the series of SMEs who we featured in the book.
